Upcoming Activities

Dear friends of poetry,

Today I would like to draw your attention to a special event organised by the Dichterpflänzchen.

‘I chose love as my home’ - Mascha Kaleko, a portrait in poems

Masha Kaléko has been compared to Morgenstern, Kästner and Ringelnatz, but that doesn't quite do her justice. She has their playfulness, satirical acuity and linguistic wit, but she also has a yearning and a delicate fragility that can take your breath away.

The Dichterpflänzchen would like to commemorate the life and work of this extraordinary poet on the 50th anniversary of her death. If you do not have time to attend the event yourself, please forward this email to friends or acquaintances. Thank you.

Dear art friends,

The museum in Wiesbaden celebrates its 200th anniversary. Admission is therefore free on all Saturdays in April.

Let´s visit together, the new exhibition: "Honey Yellow — The Bee in Art
From the Renaissance to the Present"

"The bee is the popular figure of the 21st century. The major spring exhibition provides a comprehensive insight into the exciting history of the bee in art, from the Renaissance to the present day. For the first time, this story is being told in an exhibition using top-class works of art. Never before has it been possible to experience the wide variety of roles played by the bee as vividly as in our exhibition. Surprising stories, instructive tales, philosophical ideas and astonishing allegories can be marveled at around this insect. Many of the stories are still touching today, because the bee has always been the inspiration for the visualization of general human feelings and ideals."

The exhibition brings together more than Protected content from seven centuries: paintings, sculptures, drawings, graphic art, caricatures, arts and crafts as well as medals and illustrated books. Among them are treasures from leading European museums as well as treasures from private collections, including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, the British Museum in London, the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg, the Musée du Louvre in Paris and the Musei Reali in Turin.

Looking forward to seeing you,

Dear art lover,

"Architecton is an epic, intimate, and poetic meditation on architecture and how the design and construction of buildings from the ancient past reveal our destruction — and offer hope for survival and a way forward.

Through Kossakovsky’s lens, the grandeur and folly of humanity and its precarious relationship with nature posits two urgent questions: how do we build, and how can we build better, before it’s too late?"

This special documentary needs a big screen.

Looking forward to seeing you.
