Exploring Xmas Markets: Baden Baden

Is it possible to have a journey across the world... in just one day? Let's find out this Saturday, by heading to Baden Baden.

Plan is to meet up at Baden Baden train station at 12:30 (suggested train: 09:57 Basel Bad – 12:27 Baden Baden with a 40 minute stopover in Offenburg) and try the light hike listed at
Protected content (which is the last part of the panorama trail described on Protected content ). This 2 hour walk will lead us to a Romanian-Moldovan chapel, across north American sequoia trees and by a neo-gothic castle that was a former residence of the French consulate.

Later on, at 15:45, we'll move to the Kursaal in Baden Baden: the (free) concert in Weinbrennersaal will teleport us to the
Steppes of Central Asia ( Borodin ) and to many other exotic locations, as we'll get to listen to Chinese Gallop by Strauss, Arabian Dance by Grieg (from the Peer Gynt Suite), Song of India by Nikolaj Rimskij-Korsakow and much more.

After the concert, we can wrap up the day at Baden Baden Xmas market and possibly in the Caracalla thermal baths, before heading back home.
