What you will be responsible for:

The scope of practice of the school nurse at the American International School shall include:
- Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of treatment for minor illness and injuries
- Emergency management of injuries and illness with referral to appropriate medical care
- If directed by the head school nurse, may consult with parents regarding health issues and provision of referral information as necessary
- Monitoring of the school environment for health and safety issues
- If directed by the head school nurse, may be asked to provide assistance with coordination of school response to public health issues, such as outbreaks of communicable disease
- Maintenance of student and faculty health records as well as documentation of health activities of the Nurses’ Office as directed by the head school nurse.
- School nurse duties vary as determined by the head school nurse.

What qualifications & experience you bring:
- B.S. in Nursing preferred OR equivalent academic certification in country of origin OR medical trained person
- First aid certified
- Nostrification of credentials by the Austrian authorities (done or in process)
- Good command of spoken and written German and English
- 3 years of recent nursing experience desirable
- Exposure to varied health care settings (e.g. Emergency Dept, ICU, children's clinics or public health clinics, pediatric doctor’s office) desirable
- Experience as a School Nurse or experience with school age children desirable
- Sports medicine experience or certification desirable.

Terms & conditions:
The monthly full-time equivalent gross salary range for this position will be Protected content to Protected content depending on nurse qualification and relevant experience.

The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of the Austrian background check. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they are legally able to work in Austria. AIS Vienna is not able to assist with any residence/work permits.
