    When first moving to Washington, D.C., I didn't know many people outside of the office. InterNations has changed that with some exciting events.

Living in Peoria, Illinois

Peoria is the second largest city on the Illinois River and is known for having the oldest settlement of Europeans in the state. Known by its nickname ‘Whiskeytown’, Peoria is a fantastic city which has plenty to offer and some of its most popular attractions include the Lakeview Museum as well as Peoria Zoo, which has a wide number of exhibits featuring wildlife from all over the world. Other attractions which expats living in Peoria will be able to enjoy include the Pettengill-Morron House and the Wheels O’Time Museum. The city hosts an annual running race called the Steamboat Classic whilst other popular sports include baseball and hockey. Expats living in Peoria can also enjoy theater and live music in the city and there are also a number of opportunities to enjoy shopping and leisure.
