Let’s Celebrate an Unforgettable Month of May Festivities

May has shaped up to be an exciting month filled with cultural celebrations and events that brought the world to our doorstep. From experiencing the vibrant traditions of Europe on Europe Day to delving into the traditional raising of a Maypole, our InterNations community was swept off its feet by a whirlwind of entertainment.

The Vienna Healthy Lifestyle Group started into the month with a delightful Picnic at Burggarten on 1 May. Family and friends gathered to enjoy the beauty of nature and share moments of togetherness.

On the same day, members of the Munich Chopsticks Dining Group came together to Celebrate the Tradition “Maibaumaufstellen” at Gasthof Am Gasteig, where they indulge in Maypole dancing with traditional music and drinking of beer.

Experiencing Europe around the World

On Thursday, 2 May, members of the Dallas Professional Networking Group visited the Experience Europe 2024 at the 2616 Commerce Event Center. Numerous vendors from various European countries took our members on a cultural journey through the continent, food and wine tasting included.

Meanwhile, the Luxembourg Culture Group celebrated the unity and diversity at the heart of Europe. On Thursday, 9 May, they visited the Europe Day 2024 festivities held at the European Parliament (Adenauer building) for a chance to visit the parliament itself, explore Democracy Village, and discover the new “Europa Experience” information center.

Music lovers were in for a treat on Saturday, 11 May, with the Eurovision's Final with AiB and Belgahay viewing hosted by the Brussels Jazz & World Music Lovers Group at Gotha Bar. The event let members revel in the excitement of the Eurovision competition with big screens, great drinks, and awesome vibes.

Music and Cultural Gatherings

Speaking of music: on Saturday, 4 May, the Nuremberg Health, Happiness and Well-Being Group hosted an event that brought people together to dance the night away to the beats of Bollywood and Latino music.

On the same day, the InterNations RAK Official: Let’s Celebrate an Unforgettable May event took place. The Ras Al-Khaimah Community could enjoy Western design, great entertainment, and delicious food at CLAW BBQ.

On Sunday, 5 May, the Berlin LGBTIQ+ & Friends Group came together for the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival held at Japanmarkt. The event let them experience Japanese traditional music performances, attend a presentation of the Kimono’s history and stories, and enjoy sake tasting.

Members of the Budapest Ladies Group were treated to a feast for the mind at Cultural Delicacies in Budapest on 15 May. Part of a lecture series for expats, the topic of the day was the History of Theresa Town.

In honor of Norway’s national day, the Oslo Out On the Town Group hosted Nasjonaldagen, Dinner & Drinks on 17 May. Members had the perfect opportunity to socialize with delightful dinner and drinks, surrounded by wonderful company.

As we transition into June, there are several engaging events lined up that promise to inspire, educate, and elevate your experiences.

It is time to honor the rich and diverse cultures of Africa! Our Antwerp Travel Group will be joining the Africa Day: Stories, Market, Food & Music (Local Event) on 25 May. Don’t miss out on fascinating conversations, book sessions, a market, good food, and a lively atmosphere with live music.

If you happen to be in Doha on 27 May, delve into the future business at the AI in Business: the Next Frontier event with the Doha Professional Networking Group. Discover the latest advancements in AI and explore how they are transforming the business landscape.

For a more casual yet enriching experience, join the London Language Exchange Group at the Café Lingua: Sip, Chat and Learn on 28 May. Don’t miss the chance to engage in conversations with fellow participants from diverse cultural backgrounds.

On the same day, immerse yourself in the world of entrepreneurship (and jewelry) at the Lecture on Pearls with the Helsinki Business & Networking Group at the House of Elliott Showroom Helsinki.
