Where the White Nile and the Blue Nile Meet
Khartoum is the capital city of Sudan. Temperatures in the city can reach up to 47°C during the summer months (March to July) so it's vital that you acclimatize quickly! Khartoum is home to Sudan's most prestigious schools and universities. On the White Nile Bridge, you can see where the White Nile and the Blue Nile converge, while the cuisine in Khartoum is a mix of international and Middle Eastern, although restaurants are few and far between, and the local sports scene revolves mainly around the water. Khartoum has a thriving cultural scene — surprising perhaps as alcohol is outlawed and there are no clubs in the city. However, there are music venues, covering anything from jazz, house and afro-reggae to flamenco dancing and even poetry slams.
InterNations is the largest global network for expatriates, with communities in 420 cities around the world. Meet fellow global minds in your city of residence or get to know local expatriates before you're moving or traveling abroad and never feel like a stranger. InterNations makes it easy for you to stay in touch with your expat friends, both online and offline, so you can grow your network of friends and contacts from all over the world.
