The film: "The sum of my individual parts"
Martin's only security is the numbers. Not so long ago, he was a brilliant mathematician on career course in a large company, deserved well, had a girlfriend. An orderly life. He worked to the point of exhaustion - until he collapsed and the world disintegrated into a thousand individual parts.
After his release from psychiatry, Martin loses his position, gets his things off the ex-boyfriend and isolates himself. He feels persecuted, and he finds it increasingly difficult to control reality with his figures. Beyond the crowd, on the outskirts of the city, he meets a mysterious boy who speaks only Russian. Together, they fled into the forest. Far from the pressures of everyday life, they begin a new life, build a hut, become friends. They wander through the woods, across meadows and on the shores of the lake, experiencing the glittering wilderness in millions of colors. But it's only a matter of time before you find Martin there ...
Director Hans Weingartner ("Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei") draws all the stops of the psychodrama in his new film and throws an intoxicating, beautiful, clear view into the reason of the rebellion. A story of friendship and resistance, anger and a new beginning. As simple as ingenious.
