InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Brisbane
Hello to all Americans in Brisbane! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Brisbane? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Brisbane which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st￭ turkey?
There’s no doubt about it: expats in Brisbane will have much to explore. The state capital of Queensland is a highly livable city known for being a popular tourist destination and the gateweay to the Gold Coast but also for its lively music scene, many parks and gardens, busy port, and much more! With the public transportation provided by Translink, which includes bus and Citytrain services as well as boats to the outlying islands, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in one of the districts of the Greater Brisbane Area, such as Ipswich or the Moreton Bay Region, which are a little over an hour’s commute away from Brisbane’s center.
