The state capitol is a National Historic Landmark, which is also home to the state’s government, and features a visitor’s gallery and museum to give guests a taste of Georgia’s history and how those in power work.
The major sports teams in Georgia are all based in the downtown area, with venues including Turner Field, Philips Arena and the Georgia Dome all hosting a variety of sports events, concerts and other events.

There are also plenty of places to eat, drink and shop in midtown, with trendy spots that pride themselves on representing the cutting edge, but if you want somewhere to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life, then you can find it here. The skyline is just as impressive as any you will find elsewhere, and there are plenty of green spaces, including the 180 Piedmont Park, which is perfect for those who wish to get a little exercise or just for a gentle stroll or an enlightening look around the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
