Mexican Symphonic Jazz With Antonio Sanchez
The UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Vince Mendoza, presents a program dedicated to Mexican symphonic jazz. The concert includes the Mexican premiere of Vince Mendoza's Partido Alto, a work based on the Brazilian rhythms that give it its name, commissioned by the Henry Mancini Institute.
OFUNAM will feature a special appearance by drummer Antonio Sánchez, an international jazz icon, along with other prominent musicians from the national scene.
This program is part of the celebration of International Jazz Day, established by UNESCO in Protected content recognize this genre as an artistic expression that promotes peace, intercultural dialogue, and cooperation among peoples.
