The first wine bar in Mauergasse
Balthasar Ress was a passionate host. His descendant Christian Ress also has this gene and has long dreamed of opening his own wine bar under the name of the winery. In Protected content , an opportunity arose to realize this in a listed building in the Mauergasse in Wiesbaden. The concept that had been developed in the meantime was taken out of the drawer.

We are one of the few Rheingau wineries that own vineyards in top locations throughout the Rheingau, from Assmannshausen to Kiedrich. Vineyards with extremely high potential for special wines.
Our certified organic viticulture protects our vines, our soil and our flora and fauna. It is good for us humans and good for the taste.
Our winemaking is characterized by a gentle and artisanal approach. We give our wines the time they need to develop into true Balthasar Ress wines.
