Sri Lankan Food - for Us Singles on Christmas Day
We (singles) will meet for Lunch on December 25th 12:30
Well I assume that people that have their family around will spend this day with them... but I would like to have lunch with friends and do a digestive walk in Südstadt afterwards :-)
I asked chatGTP: "what are the food specialties of Sri Lanka"... here is a part of the answer:
Known for its rich culinary traditions, Sri Lanka offers a variety of unique dishes that reflect its cultural diversity and abundant natural resources. Here are some of the most special foods associated with Sri Lanka:
Rice and Curry
The staple of Sri Lankan cuisine, rice is served with a variety of curries made from vegetables, fish, chicken, or beef.
Distinctive ingredients like coconut milk, curry leaves, and an array of spices define the flavors.
Hoppers (Appam)
A type of fermented rice flour pancake, hoppers are crispy at the edges and soft in the center.
They are often served with spicy sambols (chili-based condiments) or a fried egg in the center.
String Hoppers (Idiyappam)
Steamed rice flour noodles, typically eaten with coconut milk curry and spicy sambols.
Sri Lankan food is renowned for its spice, bold flavors, and generous use of coconut in many forms. Each dish carries the influence of the island's history, geography, and cultural exchanges.
Please join me to celebrate Christmas (if there are more people interested I will call the place and reserve more seats)
