AySay (DK/KU/TR) Wednesday Concert
A rare fusion of cultures, eras, and styles: AySay creates music that transcends all artificial boundaries and genre conventions, bringing something entirely new into being. Raised amidst her parents' Danish and Kurdish roots, mastermind Luna Bülow Ersahin fell in love early on with the sound of Arabic lutes, especially the mystical elegance of the oud and baglama.
Together with her bandmates Carl West Hosbond and Aske Døssing Bendixen, she makes this passion the defining feature of AySay’s idiosyncratic sound, incorporating synthesizers, bass guitars, flutes, and a carefully curated selection of samples. The result is nothing short of pure magic, defying clear categorization. Sometimes it sounds psychedelic to avant-garde, while at other times, it pays homage to the traditional sounds of Kurdistan.
