Persian Music in Richardson
Join me for a Friday night of south Persian music. From the description at the Eisemann : The Siriya Ensemble is a music group based in Bushehr, in the southern part of Iran. The ensemble was officially formed in Protected content of local musicians from Bushehr who focused on incorporating traditional southern Iranian music into their performances.
Over time, the group evolved and went through changes, particularly around Protected content , when new members such as Mohammad Laryan, Behrouz Sharifian, and Mehdi Monfared joined the ensemble. This marked a turning point for Siriya Ensemble as they began to develop a distinctive style that blended folk and contemporary music elements, creating a unique fusion that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Bushehr.
One of their notable projects is the album “A Table for Two,” which won a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards. This album includes a compilation of Persian folk music with contributions from various talented musicians from the group. The ensemble continues to produce music that highlights the traditional sounds of southern Iran while engaging with modern musical forms.
