Ethno Jazz Evening With a Tunisian Oud Virtuoso

As the concert's info page rightfully states: "Every oud player alive today owes something to Anouar Brahem." An oud virtuoso and composer born and raised in the Halfaouine neighborhood in the Medina of Tunis, Anouar Brahem is widely acclaimed as an innovator in his field for breathing new life into a thousand years of Arabic musical tradition and for redefining the oud's role in contemporary music. His work and collaborations with other acclaimed musicians effortlessly blend Arabic classical music with jazz, folk, Western classical music and other Eastern music cultures. Come and experience this mesmerizing music fusion with me at the Protected content in Brussels, a stone's throw away from the city center and Brussels Central Railway Station.
For this concert, Anouar Brahem will be brining along bass legend Dave Holland and the multi-talented guitarist Django Bates – both of whom are Brahem’s former bandmates – but also the cellist Anja Lechner. Looking for tickets and info and a sample of what to expect? Visit Protected content
