Let's Try A Japanese Forest Bath!
Shinrin-yoku (森林浴), also called forest bathing, is a natural therapy from Japan. It arose in the Protected content as a counterweight to stress and burnout and has since spread across the world.
A forest bath can either be a form of mindfulness or simply a way to reconnect with nature.
It does not cure diseases, but to stay in nature can have a positive effect on well-being, and scientific studies in Japan have shown that forest bathing reduces stress levels.
It's very simple to do:
- Turn off your devices to give yourself the best chance of relaxing, being mindful and enjoying a sensory forest-based experience.
- Slow down. Move through the forest slowly so you can see and feel more.
- Take long breaths deep into the abdomen. Extending the exhalation of air to twice the length of the inhalation sends a message to the body that it can relax.
- Stop, stand or sit, smell what’s around you, what can you smell?
More tips and instructions will be given when we meet.
So let's try this in Park Izvor.
There is a nearby café we can go to afterwards if there is interest in that.
See you at 14:00 PM in Park Izvor!
