Dear Friends,
Let's meet up to discuss interesting books (and read them in advance;))
Last time, we had a very interesting discussion about "1984" by Orwell. The next meeting is dedicated to One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez.
This novel tells the multi-generational story of the Buendía family, whose patriarch, José Arcadio Buendía, founded the fictitious town of Macondo.
One Hundred Years of Solitude is perhaps the most important landmark of the so-called Boom in contemporary Latin American fiction. Since it was first published in Protected content , One Hundred Years of Solitude has been translated into 46 languages and sold more than 50 million copies. The novel is recognized as one of the most significant works both in the Hispanic literary canon and in world literature. In Protected content , its author received the Nobel Prize for Literature.
We will meet on the compftable summer terrace of the restaurant Evrasia. The restaurant is located on the corner of the Rognedinskaya and Shota Rustaveli Streets (near the Palace of Sports subway station and the Synagogue).
Looking forward to welcome you there.
PS: please sign in or leave a comment if you plan to come, so I book a table for everyone who would like to join.
With best wishes,
Ira
