TRIP TO THE NORTHERN TIGERS ( Far Eastern Taiga )
1. March 2, Protected content , Sunday
- Departure at 6:30 PM. ✈️
2. March 3, Protected content , Monday
- Arrival in Khabarovsk at 9:10 AM. 🕘
- Meet at the airport, board vehicles, and head north to the Nanai District along the Khabarovsk–Komsomolsk highway. 🚗
- Stop at the Samberi supermarket Protected content for snacks, groceries, and drinks. 🛒
- Continue the journey to the Uta base near Anyuisky National Park (3.5–4 hours). 🌲
- Optional stop in Mayak village for tea or coffee at a local café. ☕
- Arrival at Uta base. Dinner, sauna, and rest. 🛖
3. March 4, Protected content , Tuesday
- Breakfast at the base. 🍳
- Snowmobile ride to explore the taiga and track fresh tiger prints. 🐅
- Evening: review camera trap footage and learn about taiga wildlife. 📸
- Overnight at Uta base. 🌌
4. March 5, Protected content , Wednesday
- Morning visit to Uta base's biotechnical complex. 🌿
- Snowmobile ride deeper into the taiga to track more tiger traces. ❄️
- Dinner and overnight stay at Uta base. 🌠
5. March 6, Protected content , Thursday
- Excursion to Arsenyevo, a remote taiga village on the Anyuy River, located at the edge of the national park. 🏘️
- Meet locals: Russians, Udege people, and Old Believers. Visit the local school. 🏫
- Return to Uta base. (Alternatively, spend the day exploring the taiga.) 🌳
