I am excited to resume our Art & Food weekends.

This January we will go to Modern 1 to discover the first ever retrospective exhibition of artworks by Edinburgh-based Everlyn Nicodemus, which includes drawings, collages, paintings and textiles from the last 40 years of the artist’s life, as well as new works created especially for this show. This inspiring experience is made possible because Nicodemus was the winner of the prestigious Freelands Award in Protected content .

Nicodemus was born in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania in Protected content . She is an artist, writer and curator who believes that creativity can be a form of healing. Her joyful artworks are a powerful response to the global oppression of women, the profound impact of racism and her personal trauma and recovery. Nicodemus’ portrayal of the human body is bold and courageous. Her work asks us to explore and question our understanding of identity, belonging and faith. Nicodemus also loves to experiment with colour and form. In her art, you can spot abstract patterns, materials and found objects from around the home.

Admission is free.

After the exhibition we will go to Ragù Pasta Protected content Street). I have booked a table at 13:00 so there will be plenty of time to arrive there on time.

I have booked a table for 6 for now.

When you sign up for the event please send me a message to confirm if you are signing up both for the gallery and the restaurant.
Please, sign up for the restaurant only if you are actually coming.

Let's meet at this wine bar located in Edinburgh's West End to sample some delicious wines.

They are specialized in fine wines at every price range. From small vignerons to traditional wineries, they believe in well-made wines, rather than supporting bulk production wineries.

They also have a good selection of small bites.

We have booked a table for this event so please only accept the invitation if you are definitely coming.

We look forward to seeing you there.
