Kuru Art @ !Khwa Ttu
In May Protected content , the !Khwa ttu Heritage Centre is proud to announce a collaborative endeavour with the esteemed Kuru Art Project to commemorate 30 years of democracy in South Africa and celebrate our unity as Africans during Africa Month.
The temporary exhibition will feature works by the talented San artists supported by the Kuru Art Project. All fourteen paintings represent plants or animals with one focussing on traditional skin bags of San women. Additionally, the exhibition will include interactive sessions, and talks to engage visitors in meaningful dialogue about the intersection of art, democracy, and African heritage.
Come and join us for a fun tour where you get the opportunity to paint your own artwork and add it to our collage map of Africa.
I most definitely will go between Protected content (tbc when, but will let you know on the event board), but please feel free to go along with friends anytime in May.
Khwa Ttu Heritage Center is one of my favourite museums in Western Cape, so much worth the visit!! It is situated cc.75km north of Cape Town on R27, so it's on your way to Darling, or the West Coast NP, or Pater Noster, just to name a few destinations..
