Follow Your Nose to A Local Estaminet

Hey fellow Lilloisins,

To kick off a monthly food-focused activity as your Lille consul, we will follow our nose to a modern estaminet, the typical bistro of the North, offering cosy regional specialities and locally brewed beer if that is your thing.

Estaminets are known for their warm and convivial atmosphere, so it will be a lovely setting to meet new folks in Lille. We will have the chance to sample a set menu that includes 3 courses and is priced at around €30. Drinks/alcohol are extra of course.

Here is an example of a recent menu:

Starters:
- Terrine
- Courgette Soup with a poached egg
- Haddock salad

Main:
- Chicken with Maroilles cheese
- Spelt risotto
- Flemish carbonnade
- Butchers choice with onion
- Andouillette sausage and mustard

Desserts:
- French toast & ice cream
- Poached pear in a beer coulis
- Dame blanche (vanilla sundae)

There will be 10 spots max, if you sign up to this event, you won't be counted until the fee is paid, since it requires a restaurant booking. Message me and I will provide my IBAN.
