Cavalleria Rusticana in Concert
Join us in celebrating the 20th anniversary of Ferran Gili-Millera’s leadership of Amabilis. For this special occasion, the orchestra reunites with the Calliope choir, led by Florence Grivat, to present a concert version of Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni.
First performed in Protected content , Cavalleria Rusticana is an iconic Italian opera, richly influenced by the traditional songs of southern Italy. The story unfolds on Easter morning in a Sicilian village, where Santuzza, worried and searching for her lover Turiddu, discovers he has rekindled his past romance with the beautiful Lola. Amidst the tension and jealousy, a tragic drama begins to take shape, set against Mascagni’s passionate score.
