It's hard to believe, but 50 years have actually passed since Professor Dieter Lindemann founded this wonderful orchestra at the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium. He conducted it with great dedication for many years until Manfred Richter seamlessly took over the baton in Protected content successfully led the orchestra until Protected content . Since then, Sebastian Beckedorf has taken over as musical director. After the difficult years of the pandemic, during which no concerts could take place, the ASJ was faced with a new beginning - and it was a success!

In this anniversary year, we would like to celebrate together with a series of great concerts. We would be delighted to see many of you again at these concerts.
We are particularly pleased to have secured an alumnus as a soloist for the first concert of the anniversary year on 7 November Protected content Christian Tetzlaff will perform Brahms' Violin Concerto together with the ASJ - a great honour for the youth orchestra and certainly a special treat for you and you to come along to the Protected content
