‼️This is a NOT a lecture on religion.

The Muslim call to prayer aka Adhan is recited from the mosque five times a day on most days and traditionally from a mosque's minaret. While it has a religious purpose, it also has a very profound impact to the ear, whether a person is a Muslim or not. Like many sounds, and forms of arts in all religions, the Islamic call to prayer is extremely powerful and almighty. How does it sound to the ear of someone who has never heard it and what does it envoke in those who grew up with it? How did the call to prayer come to life and what is the story behind it? Join to find out. How does a religious sound impact our mind and brain? Can we appreciate religious sounds, music and art purely for aesthetics and melody, or must we be practicing that religion? Agenda: Very short presentation Protected content of listening to Azan from around the world + discussion after.
