Unpacking Bias: From Preferences to Prejudices
⚠️Read event guidelines carefully in the description below.
Join us for an insightful discussion on the distinctions between preferences, prejudices, and biases (both implicit and explicit), and how they shape our perceptions of others. We'll explore the cultural norms that contribute to biases and stereotypes, and examine strategies to recognize and combat them. This interactive session will encourage participants to reflect on their own experiences and gain tools to foster more inclusive thinking and behaviors.
Event will be interactive and will require participants to participate in a fun visual brainstorming activity, scenario discussions and then opening the floor for comments. This is NOT a lecture or a webinar.
Guidelines:
📌Do not use the wall of event as a substitute to write your opinions.
📌Your Zoom name must be the same as your Internations name.
📌 Keep your comments at event to maximum of 3 minutes at a time.
📌 Be respectful of different views that do not match your own.
📌 Rude/aggressive/discriminatory behavior will result in removal from event.
