Join us a for a picturesque and historical hike through scenic surrey countryside encompassing lush green meadows and fields, amazing views over looking the city of Guildford, passing through small forests and walking along quaint streams and the River Wey ending at the historic Guildford castle.

Highlights

Visit the grave of Lewis Carroll (Author of Alice in Wonderland)

The imposing Bookers Tower & The mesmerising Watts Chapel

Walk along parts of the quaint River Wey

A quick stop at the end at Guildford Castle

Terrain: The first part will be a steep climb to the Hogs Back followed by mainly a flat hike. There will be a few roads to cross and pavement walking but the majority will be in the countryside.

Distance: Approx 19 km (11.8 miles)

Ascent: Protected content Descent: Protected content

Pace: Brisk (We'll go at a brisk pace with a few stops at various points for sightseeing etc...)

Finish times are approx as it depends on speed of group and stops. We may finish earlier

There will be a lunch stop after about 2 hours and a toilet stop after about an hour. There are toilets at Guildford station on the platform

N.B. During the hike we have to criss cross different areas and cross some roads. Please be careful when doing this
