Laura Bartoni Next to the Prince, The role of Lucrezia Tomacelli ( Protected content ) and Anna Colonna ( Protected content ) between family affections and public image

Lucrezia Tomacelli, wife of Filippo I Colonna, and her daughter Anna Colonna: through correspondence, literary compositions and portraits, we retrace part of the life of these two ladies of seventeenth-century Rome – wives, mothers, daughters – analyzing their character, roles, choices, in the family context and in relation to the female models of the time.

Laura Bartoni, graduated and specialized in History of Medieval and Modern Art at Sapienza University of Rome, is a PhD and associate professor of History of Modern Art at the International Telematic University Uninettuno.

She deals with issues related to the artistic culture of the seventeenth century in Rome, the social history of art, collecting and the art market in the seventeenth century. She has investigated the Roman artistic environment of the 17th century, with particular attention to the material life of artists, to the themes of artistic migration and settlement in the Roman context

The event will be held by the Swedish Institute for Classical Studies in Rome that promotes research and academic teaching in the fields of classical archaeology, classical philology, history of art and architecture, as well as cultural and literary history.
