"Take More Chances, Dance More Dances"
Whether you're an advanced dancer or a newbie, it doesn't matter. If you're down to channel early 20th century vibes and get your boogie woogie on, then join the party for swing dancing!
For those unfamiliar with the dance of swing, per Google, "Swing dancing is a jazz dance that developed during the swing era of jazz music. Some examples of swing dances include Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and Charleston...'
The Protected content hosts Saturday night live band and swing dancing. The event starts at 8PM, but if you want dance lessons, arrive a half hour early at 7:30 PM. (Possibly an additional $25 but I will let you know.)
The band playing that night is Douglas Rodgers & His Crooner Quartet.
Here is one of their links to hear what they sound like: Protected content
The cost of the event itself is $25.
See link for more details: Protected content
A few tips: You may want to bring your own partner, or not...take your chances. One thing is certain: stretch beforehand and always, always, always drink water!
I have only done swing dancing a few times myself so we shall see how this goes. But if things go well, maybe we can do the next Saturday night there as well, February 8th...
Meanwhile, I look forward to seeing everyone, "Shake a tail feather." ;-)
