Tove Jansson and Documentary
Tove Jansson – Paradise
Protected content 's major exhibition presents Tove Jansson's commissioned works for public spaces, where the artist's goal was to create beauty and joy of life around her and to provide ingredients for the world of stories. Spread over two floors, the complex fills half of Protected content 's exhibition space and presents more than Protected content and objects, including never-before-seen sketches.
At 17:00, for those interested, let's see a documentary:
The documentary film tells about the dramatic fire of the old church in Teuva and the construction of the new church, and opens up the backgrounds of the altar painting made by Jansson. Through Jansson's letters and entries in the workbook, we follow the creation of the work and the artist's thoughts about the painting process. The film also shows other monumental works of the artist. The memories of contemporaries and archival material paint a picture of Jansson as an artist and at the same time tell about the atmosphere of post-war Finland.
