Another pleasant Thursday awaits to enjoy some contemporary Finnish artwork with a group of other InterNations art lovers.

Come join us for a tour of four top-notch galleries in the heart of the neighborhoods of Kaartinkaupunki, Kamppi and Punavuori. While most of Helsinki's galleries close down near this time in the afternoon, our five selected galleries will be hosting the opening night of the exhibitions of, among others,

Ville Löppönen (surrealist painter)
Kari Cavén (sculptor)
The Finnish Painters Union

What this will offer us in each case is a chance to meet and chat with the curators of each exhibition as well as the artists who created the work hanging on the walls. This is a fun way to see local art as it offers the opportunity to learn something extra about the artists if you like, as well as see these artists' latest creations with the public before anyone else.

We'll meet at 17.30 in Kolmikulma/Triangle Park beside the small sculpture of an athlete tossing a spear. To find us via GPS, you can run a search for Villisilkki, a fabric store located at Yrjönkatu 12, which is right across the street.

For those coming by tram, the Kolmikulma tram stop can be reached via tram 10.

The tour of the four galleries will entail a total of under two kilometers of walking. We will reach the last one by 18.45.

If we find ourselves interested afterwards, we can pick out a place for a drink, a light snack or a meal.
