After Work Art: Delicacies. Between Art and Cuisine

Cookery shows on every TV channel, bestselling cookery books, gourmet festivals and street-food markets, countless photos of food on our social networks, and a growing awareness of healthy and sustainable nutrition – food is playing an increasingly important role in society and shaping many aspects of our everyday lives. Today, food is no longer just a basic need; it is a cultural phenomenon and a political statement.

This social development offers a starting point for the exhibition Delikatessen. Zwischen Kunst und Küche. Current exploration of the border area between art and cuisine is introduced via 23 artistic positions, with a great variety of aspects being presented: Starting from the level of aesthetic reflection, through sensual experience to political issues.
