Danish Christmas Bazaar With Hot Wine and Traditional Pastries
In the spirit of Christmas I invite you to join me for a Danish Christmas bazaar/soirée in the Danish Church.
There will be a bazar where they sell home made decorations, home made Christmas cookies and lots of traditional Danish candy and food.
There will also be a cantine where you can try the famous smørrebrød, frikadeller (meat balls, not like the ones from Ikea), hotdogs, ris a la mande with cherry sauce, æbleskiver (pastries) and gløgg (hot wine).
You will be guaranteed to experience true Danish hygge in its raw and most authentic form (warm ambience, lots of calories and absolutely no fancy aesthetics).
I will of course teach you to pronounce all the words in Danish. Also ris a la mande in Danish ;-)
But before we go into the church (which is a very informal church, we are after all Danish), we will take a quick look at the beautiful Christmas trees decorated with Danish designed decoration in the court yard of Maison du Danemark. This is a bit more fancy, so you will get the impression that danes have good taste.
The church is just on the other side of the Maison.
Only small group as the bazaar is a mostly for danes who get very nostalgic when they see frikadeller, ris a la mande and æbleskiver, and we have to keep this part of our culture secret, as we want everyone to think we have a healthy and modern lifestyle.
NB: Notice that the meeting point is at Maison du Danemark, and then we will go from there to the church approximately 18.30.
