Exhibition of Handcrafted Nativity Scenes
It´s Xmas season, and as the closing activity of the year, we´ll enjoy a temporary exhibition of Nativity Scenes.
This temporary exhibition takes up the traditional theme of the representation of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, which began in Mexico in the 16th century and was brought with the Catholic religion. On display are the winning works of the contest organized by Fonart and Cultural Promotion of Citibanamex, which recognizes 45 traditional artists.
Each creation reflects the connection between Christmas festivities and the cultural roots of its creators, from states such as Oaxaca, Guanajuato, Michoacán and Yucatán.
This Musuem also has a collection of Novo-Hispanic painting and sculpture, 12 mummified bodies, as well as a collection of wax dances, the work of the cultural manager and sculptor of the 20th century, Carmen Carrillo Martínez.
So let´s have a great visit to this fantastic XVII century building. Not to be missed!!
At the end of the activity, for the ones who wants to join we´ll have a toast in "La Jacinta" Restaurant.
Close to the date we´ll create the whatsapp group for this activity.
