The night will begin with an illuminating conversation on Black Radical Imagination in Film featuring filmmakers whose projects will screen at this year’s Festival.
Three talented Black filmmakers will share how they reimagine stories that sit beyond the confines of traditional narratives of the future and society. How does their storytelling push the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of Black creativity and artistic resistance?
⋆ Abigail Whitney is an international model, actor, and internationally award-winning theatre and film director and producer.
⋆ Ayo Tsalithaba is a visual artist, writer, researcher and award-winning filmmaker, from Ghana and Lesotho and based in Toronto.
⋆ Jamal Burger is a filmmaker and founder of The Kickback Foundation.
After getting inspired by our speakers, join the afterparty where you'll enjoy delicious food, drinks, and music by DJ V∆NESS∆. Mingle with current and past Festival filmmakers and meet an amazing community of creatives from the film, media, and art scene in Toronto.
