Since last October, owner and chef Shabnam Syed has moved her heritage and innovative offerings into the former Finanzamt Neukölln and repurposed the building, from a House of Sighs to a House of Smiles. Her menue ranges from typical breakfast snacks such as pakoras, samosas, and toasties to lunch staples such as Biryani and Daals inspired by both Lahore and London, to a take on Reuben sandwiches and savoury waffles. Her Gulab Jamun cheesecake alone is worth a trek to Neukölln. The bread is sourced from Albatross and the coffee is from Passengers.
