Drawing & Visiting Dubuffet Foundation in Paris
The Dubuffet Foundation is one of the very first institutions in France whose founder is the artist himself. Jean Dubuffet created his own foundation not only to ensure the respect for his work, but also to maintain a significant collection of his works.
The statutes were signed August 9, Protected content the Foundation has been recognized "institution d'utilité publique" (institution of public utility) by the Conseil d’État (Council of State) on November 22, Protected content . Jean Dubuffet himself was president until his death in May Protected content . Entrusted by Dubuffet as the holder of his moral rights, the Foundation ensures that his name and work are respected. The Foundation is also the owner of the patrimonial rights, through a bequest from the artist's daughter, Isalmina Dubuffet, who died in Protected content .
The Dubuffet Foundation is situated on two locations: one in Périgny-sur-Yerres in the Val-de-Marne department and the other in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.
We propose to visit the foundation in Paris to start with. We will visit and the everyone will feel free to draw or not to draw. We will share our experience afterwards around a drink.
