Sneak Peek / Czech R - BIKE Trip to Lednice Castle

If you still don´t have plans for Easter Monday, join me on this relaxing trip to our neighbourhood 😎🚲.

We will meet in front of main entrance to Wien Mitte (pic uploaded).
Train to Bernhardsthal (REX1 to Breclav) leaves at 8:10h.

Depending on group size, you can buy Einfach-Raus-Radticket (I have Klima ticket, but I can help with purchase if needed).

Distance ~ 55 km, flat, mainly dirt trails and gravel.

Route goes mainly through woods and parkland, crossing river Thaya and Czech border and passing through Breclav on our way.
We’ll stop for a brake and/or picnic at Janův hrad (a hunting lodge in the ruins of the old castle), shortly before reaching grounds of Lednice castle.
There we can walk around the lake and climb to a Minaret (viewing-tower built in the Moorish style) to enjoy a view of the area.
The whole area is a world heritage site.

*IMPORTANT*
1) We will be crossing country border, so pls take care that you have appropriate documents with you, just in case.

2) We can only pay with Czech crowns, so if you have some at home, bring it with you. We can stop at the ATM in Breclav. If I remember correctly, minimum amount to withdraw was 20 EUR.

I would suggest to take some food/snacks/drinks with you and maybe some small blanket, as there are plenty of beautiful spots to have a picnic. There will be also opportunities to buy food/drinks.
