Gaik — A Celebration of Spring in Warsaw’s Greenest District
🌿 Gaik is an old Slavic welcome to Spring 🌸
Come along to a unique event inspired by the old Slavic custom of “walking with a gaik”! This is a joyful ritual in which we celebrate the arrival of spring, the rebirth of nature and the time of a new beginning.

⏰ Time: 12:30pm
During the event, there will be a colourful parade with a gaik – a green branch symbolising life and rebirth. We will walk in a colorful procession, singing traditional songs, and we will also learn more about the ancient beliefs of our ancestors.
The event will be led by Zosia Bernad who specialises in Polish traditions. We will learn three gaik songs, which we will later sing in a gaik procession. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age and musical experience.
