Explore the food scene of Warsaw with me at the Protected content Let’s see how people used to eat in the city, and how customs and traditions have changed over the years. The exhibition For Here and To Go presents eight centuries of the history of food in Warsaw. Cuisine occupies an important place in the social history of our city; not only does it illustrate the changes taking place, but it also exerts a significant impact on customs, interpersonal relationships, and urban spaces from medieval times to the present day.

The exhibition offers not only a historical perspective, but also shows what Warsaw’s food scene is like today. Selected artworks by contemporary artists testify to the important role of preparing and consuming food here and now while drawings showing street food, old-time kitchens, eateries and picnics will take you back to Warsaw in the bygone era.

And finally, let’s have some mulled wine and zapiekanki in the old town to complete the culinary experience:)
