Sunday Lunch, Walk and Drinks
Sunday walk to the largest public park in Reading. Prospect Park is Reading’s largest open space and gets its name from the fine views across the Kennet Valley and beyond, which can be enjoyed best from the Mansion House. Grade II listed mansion, at the highest point of the park, on a hill.
Prospect Park includes broad sweeps of short cut grass, with areas of meadow grassland, a pond that attracts an assortment of wildlife, and ‘The Rookery’: a mature oak woodland and Wildlife Heritage Site.
We will meet at the Reading train station promptly at 11:30 am in front of the Three Guineas, for a 40 minutes’ walk towards Prospect Park, and have lunch / a drink at the Mansion House, visit the Park including ‘The Rookery’, and return to Reading Centre (train station) at approx. 3:30 pm.
