The origins of hot pot can be traced to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. We are going to warm up from the cold by eating this healthy, traditional Chinese food. Huoguo is a communal dining experience where diners cook their own food in a simmering pot of broth in the middle of the table. The dish has a history of over 2,000 years in China.
Diners use chopsticks to place food in the big, ying Ylang shaped bowl. I lived in Shanghai for 4 years and Hong Kong for 2. Huoguo is my favorite traditional Chinese food. Everyone pays for their own food and drinks. Plum juice is the tastiest drink.
