We invite you to appreciate a special guided tour to be hosted by a very prestigious museum in Buenos Aires: "Art collection in dialogue: from Bouguereau to Gauguin".
🖼️ This guided visit proposes connecting two artwork from the museum's permanent collection as “La toilette de Venus”, de Willian Bouguereau Protected content “Mujer del mar”, from Paul Gauguin Protected content shown in the pictures), in order to seek affinities, similarities, differences and tensions. Each one invites us to a deep reflection based on the artistic, historical and cultural contexts that define life.
👨🏼🎨 Here's a glimpse of both artists: William-Adolphe Bouguereau ( Protected content ) was a French academic painter. In his realistic genre paintings, he used mythological themes, making modern interpretations of classical subjects, with an emphasis on the female human body; while Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin Protected content Protected content a French painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramist, and writer, whose work has been primarily associated with the Post-Impressionist and Symbolist movements.
