Do You Like It Salty? or Why Salt Was Called a White Gold;)
Salt Mines in Bex is such a extraordinary place that I decided to organize this event again. But as we must to pay an English-speaking guide ahead, this time I will ask you to TWINT me 20 chf before our visit.
Let's discover together the salt mines in Bex, built in 15th century, where salt is still mined until today. An adventurous expedition into the heart of Swiss Alps will start at 2 p.m. at the train station of BEX where you need to take a bus. If you come by train or car, you can come directly in the parking lot in front of the main entrance of the SALT MINES at 2:15 p.m. There is only 1 bus so please try to be at 2 p.m. in Bex if you plan to come by train. Please be on time because the visit will start at 2:15 p.m. sharp, the entrance door will be closed afterwards, and a small train will take us inside a mine, so it will not be possible to join us later.
..and, by the way, did you know the word *salary* comes from Latin word "salarium," which means "salt money"?
Back when the barter system was prominent, Roman soldiers were paid in salt. But where is this "white gold" coming from in Switzerland, a country without any direct sea access?
After our visit we can go- for those who are interested yo join....to nearby Lavey-les-Bains for an enjoyable evening SPA experience:

I am looking forward to exploring this fascinating segment of the country's past with you, hidden in the heart of Swiss Alps.
