Senzatomica Exhibition
Senzatomica is an itinerant exhibition on disarmament against the threat of nuclear weapons; it’s placed at the Refectory of Santa Maria Novella and offers an extended itinerary enriched with multimedia elements. The visit is an opportunity of reflection through the experiences of the survivors – the hibakusha – and an immersive visit to the sites of the tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with the narrative voice of Carmen Consoli.
The itinerary crosses 5 different thematic areas.
In the Atrium, we hear direct testimonies from the hibakusha. The Atmosphere of Memory traces the history of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the role of scientists in the creation of the bomb, also through an immersive experience. The Library of Voices explores the vision of security based on nuclear weapons, its harms and risks to people and the environment.
The People's Table invites reflection on individual responsibility to achieve a world free from nuclear weapons. In this area, visitors carry out workshops aimed at stimulating questions and reflections. By crossing the Tunnel of Intention, visitors leave the exhibition, expressing their commitment or determination.
We will meet at 10 in front of the entrance and after the visit we can share our impressions in front of a coffee.
