Live Performance: the Way Back

What does it mean to be rooted?
Rediscovering the meaning of origin, belonging and displacement, The way back invites us to connect with the raw feelings of our shared human experience. This live performance weaves together live music, contemporary dance and captivating performance art. Based on the exploration of the earth's influence on the human body, it creates a unique and immersive live experience that explores the powerful forces that shape our identity.

This performance is created as part of an artistic residency in collaboration with sculptor, sound artist and performer Mariam Dahab, dancer and choreographer Nadine Nasr, dancer and choreographer Ziad Medhat and music composer and multi-instrumentalist Bassem Diaa at the Goethe-Institut's Kulturgarage, who will incorporate their personal experiences of their different relationships to home and earth to explore a deeper understanding of our relationship to the earth.
